Dalmore 12 Whiskey History

A Highland classic with a signature twelve-progned stag logo. The story of the stag goes back to 1263, when the head of clan Mackenzie heroically saved Scottish King Alexander the Third thus being awarded this prestigious emblem.

How does a Dalmore 12 taste?

One of my personal favorites Dalmore creates a perfect blend between orange and chocolate, a mix I always enjoyed. On the nose nose you immediately notice rich chocolate and orange. Palate gives you more oranges and some vanilla. Finish gives you a nice punch with coffee and chocolate mix. Dalmore12 is matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks that bring out soft vanilla and honey notes. Dalmore12 is then finessed in pinnacle Sherry casks, including 30-Year Old Matusalem Oloroso casks, exclusive to The Dalmore, to give the whisky a rich, nutty character. The two styles are then reunited to create this single malt. Dalmore 12 is one of those bottles that catches your attention when you see it at a bar, the burgundy color and the stag on the bottle make for a perfect packaging of this Highland staple. I remember buying this bottle for the first time during 2020 and enjoying it by the fireplace during one of many lockdowns, a bottle that is a reminder of how during even bad times sitting by the fireplace with a classic like this you can for a few moments forget about the madness outside.
